Fitting a gaited horse with a saddle can be a difficult process if you do not know anything about saddle fitting. You want to make sure the saddle is comfortable for your horse, but also for you. You also need to make sure there is enough room for their shoulders to move and also not so long it rubs into their hip area. So the saddle needs to be cut back more then a regular western saddle. I have had many gaited saddles over the years, as many times my customers buy the saddle with the horse, but recently i purchased a crest ridge, and although it was more expensive, I have to say it was worth it, best saddle I have had yet. The horses are comfortable and so am I, no rubs on them or me. Debra the owner was very helpful and she can help you to pick the best saddle to fit your horse and you, to allow your horse to gait comfortably. I have also had the Tennesseans, Crates and Big Horn saddles, they all fit well but again the Crest Ridge has been the top of the line for me.

Western Trail Gaited Horse and Mule Saddles  Email Debra

Western trail gaited horse saddles are the most popular style of gaited horse saddle in the United States.  Crest Ridge Saddlery offers 6 different western trail gaited horse saddles, each uniquely designed to match needs of the gaited horse.  Our gaited horse saddle designs were inspired by working saddles from the ‘wild west’ which we modified to take advantage of modern technology and our years of experience in leading organized trail rides. In our flare trees, the gaited horse’s shoulder is free to move and the rider is placed in the center balanced position that has been proven superior over centuries of riding.  Our gaited horse saddles offer a variety of rigging options to prevent galling and promote saddle stability.  Crest Ridge Saddlery places a premium on rider comfort too.  Many of our saddles have Supra-Cor padded gel-like seats standard or available as an option.  Many of our gaited horse saddles can be, as an option, reinforced to safely withstand the demands of roping.  Our Western Trail gaited horse and mule saddle lines are the: Bear Trap, Delzar, High Prairie, Sentry, Sonata and Wade.
