this is the 2nd day of working with martini, but it is not as exciting as the first day, will try to update her videos
in a couple weeks. there are more videos of her on training page
Martini is doing very well for 1 week, she was confused and had alittle attitude, but she is coming along nicely, she has
most of her ground work down very well and now will tie patiently, goes in the crossties and the washrack and i even clipped
her today after several days of preparing her. I'm sure she will test me some more, but thats part of the fun of training.
The
trails were quite exciting today, with the lady letting her warmblood loose in the arena on the hill as we were trying to
pass, nothing like trying to keep your horse calm on the way home past an exploding horse, and then the lady running down
the hill at our horses and wouldnt stop even with all my yelling, i finally had to whistle and then i got the dumb founded
look of, whats wrong? as we are trying to keep our horses calm, while she almost ran into us. just another exciting day on
our trails.
Martini arrived today, a new paint mare for training, the owner got her as a trail horse, but she is not well broke and
has some issues, such as rearing, pulling back, afraid of the washrack, the barn, you name it. I don't even think
she has ever had a bath and she is 5. Well she got one today, hope it last another 5 years, that's a joke. the owner said
to video her, because then i can show a crazy horse before and after. Somewhere inside of her, is a sweet mare, we just have
to pull her out.
We didnt get to trailer out this weekend, have been too busy, 7 horses in training.Well will
try to get you some video of the crazy horse this week, if anyone is interested.
This is Martini, the first day she has ever been in a stall, the first day she ever got a bath, and the first day she
went to Gaye's Boot Camp.
I saw this Bobcat just the other night, he was hunting off the trail. He stayed long enough for me to take his picture
and then off he went, it was dark and the camera phone is not the best, but hopefully you can make him out.
Today Diane and I, went back and went around the entire reservoir with Romeo and Gulliver, got detoured a couple
times and finally made it back, after 4 hours of riding. Amazing views. majestic rider's photostream
Today we actually got some time to trailer out. I have so many horses in training right now, and more coming in, it is
hard to get away, even with Alex helping me. So we set out to Briones Reservoir, it was quiet and peaceful, such a relief
from our busy trails. Banshee and Sundance were so much fun. I also got to use my new trailer eyes-video in the trailer, so
entertaining to watch them and so helpful to see how the horses do around the turns and over the bumps. We are very lucky
to have such nice trails, so close.
Went out with missy and alex on a christmas eve ride, only in california could we have such a wonderful day to go out and
enjoy our horses, of course we had to put on the reindeer antlers, but sundance's broke half way thru and he looked
more like the dog from the grinch! Happy Holidays! majestic rider's photostream
