  • Saw a lot of change with you just working with him the two times, so am hoping that with a few more sessions he will have it together enough so that we can work it out as well, with your advice.

  • I am so excitied about learning ur techniques of riding the horses.  They work so FAST.    And it is a method that I can do NOW at my skill level w/o having to take hours & hours more riding lessons to learn how to 'collect', etc.  I'm very excitied.   And what is cool as well, is that I can see the 'end zone'.  Another words, I have never known 'what' my instructors were aiming for w the riding of the horses.  All that, "more left rein, more right leg' kind of instruction taught me NOTHING about WHY it was being done.   I mean, I could SEE what the horse could do when someone else got on (like u when u ride .. I can SEE the horse getting on the bit, etc.).. but I never understood Where the training was supposed to go.  It's hard to explain.   YOU in these few weeks so far, have me understanding what my horse should be able to do w this traiing.. ie stay on the bit, keep the same speed we request of her, stay on the rail, keep impulsion up from behind w/o having to 'nag' her constantly.. teach her to be responsive to subtle cues.. etc, etc., etc.. too much to type out!   lol.  WOW.  My brain is just on fire!  I can only hope I can get out there and practice 'enough' to do her justice.

It was TOO FUN yest. when I got on.. and she was sort of gaiting around.. loose reins!  NO CONTACT AT ALL on her mouth! .. just so funny!  What a hoot!  I think impulsion is crucial to her success at her ability to gait as well.

  • Thank you for asking some of your clients to email me their recommendations and experiences.  You have a very appreciative "horse audience"!  Without exception, all sing your praises.

  • it is my pleasure to give my personal testimonial to you with regard to the professional equestrian training abilities of Gaye .  I have known Gaye for only a short time and witnessed her care and training with horses.  I am purchasing two of her horses because of her training efforts.

Her methodology and kinship with the horses makes the horse whisperer and Clint Anderson, etc. pale in comparison.  Her equestrian acumen coupled with her integrity of mutual respect with the horse is simply amazing.  Other boarders at the barn literally stop in their tracks and witness her "magic" training with horses.  The reason why I say it is "magic", is because she is so sharp and fast, that it takes a lot shorter time to train because of her natural skill set.  Gaye's knowledge of horses is immense and her philosophy of how to treat horses results in an absolute winning combination for the horse and owner.

I have full trust in her talent with horse and rider and would not hesitate for a moment to bring any horse to her for training.

  • I can highly recommend Gaye as a trainer for your horse!   She has been working with my horse and myself for almost 2 months now and my horse is improving daily!   She was having some attitude problems out on the trail.  She is improving remarkably!  I think that Gaye's techniques and very effective and they work quickly.   In fact, Gaye is too eager to tell me that, "I won't need her for much longer'!   haha !  She is learning to collect and to get supple and do lateral work, too.  Something I could not get out of her.

In addition, as a bonus for me, Gaye has worked with gaited horses and my mare is gaited.   However, I have been unable to get her in her proper gait for 4 years now and Gaye is helping me with this, too.

She is diligent and in my opinion, should be charging more for her efforts because she will charge a set fee, and then work the horse for 'as long as it takes' sometimes as much as 2 hours (on trail for example).   She is also very gentle with the horses and they all adore her.

I have been blessed to find this treasure of a trainer/teacher!   I have been riding for 40 years and I have never made such fast strides in improvement!  Gaye has a real talent with horses and people.

  • Read your email and thank you for all of your input and agreed with everything you said, and would love to have you show me what you did. Agree that would be best for you to follow through quickly while all is fresh in his mind, so please go ahead and round pen/ride asap if you didn't today.I think I have been confusing "trust" with "respect", plus have just been too lax in thinking some of his behavior is just his personality rather than bad behavior, which as you saw means he's just started  pushing it more. As usual, it is the owner who always needs the most training! I thank you so much for your work with him.. as you could see, I have been lazy and he needed some boot camp.

  • You are a very talented  horse trainer and I feel so lucky to have you

  •  Thank you for coming out on Friday
Each time you come I get some new and interesting exercise to help  get her manners together.
  •         Got out on Sunday for a long walk on the roads. Too muddy to go out. We stayed at a nice calm walk . He got to look at a lot of garbage cans , balloons, dogs,  big puddles  and lots of cars and had no problems with any of them. He was very relaxed.  We worked on halts and standing quiet and he did real well.

  • I had some really GOOD flat walk moments on my horse today out on trail.   I couldn't believe it!  It was awesome.

  • So  today we had a pretty nice ride, behind Borges and then to the twin lakes, cantered there up the hill, it was just sooo great to be able to ride out there by myself again, i swear there is nothing better, i find the biggest peace doing that.. he was great!

  •  Thank you, we love this boy and we will take good care of him I would love for you to work some more with my daughter when you have time and keep in touch with us.

  • Our vet came today and ask where we got such a wonderful horse. Everyone loves him, he is the sweetest horse, he's calm, willing and just what we were looking for, my daughter couldn't be happier. She can ride him on the trail and in the arena. We looked at alot of horses and knew as soon as we met you and your horse that he was the one. You were helpful and made sure we tested him in the arena and the trail.

  • No one can believe how beautiful this horse is and how calm. The other day a horse reared up in front of him and he just stood there like whats wrong with him. He walked calmly off the trailer when he arrived and thats just how he stayed. Thanks for all the advice on what to do when he arrived and how to help him get adjusted.

  • I just love this horse, he is so much fun, i can ride alone or with others and boy does he love the water. Most of the horses I tried were not as described but yours was right on and you had great trails to try him on, loved moving the cows too bad we don't have any where I live.
